It’s far more fun posting pictures of our amazing targets, beautiful property, or incredible archers…

But there’s a lot that goes into running a conservation club and it’s important to share with you that we follow and abide by all rules and regulations.

Our kitchen isn’t much, but we strive to provide you with a safe meal when you visit us.

Once again, no violations and only positive feedback. Thank you to the county for working with us as our kitchen is only open to the public once a month and connecting schedules isn’t the easiest.

Its August and the Elk & Muley shoot is happening this w/e. August 20 @ Tomahawk Archers. 2085 W. Erie Rd. Temperance, MI 48182. $10 for adults. $5 for teens. Kids are free. Free rental and instruction for newbies. Kitchen open for breakfast and lunch. Henry Rose has done a fine job w/ the targets again this year. He started painting for this shoot in January and the targets are beautiful! We've even brushed in some blinds to make it real. The hunter in you will enjoy this shoot for sure. We got confirmation this morning that Doc Steve Laut will be breaking rocks in his booth at the shoot Sunday. Flint knapping at its best. See you there.

Consumers Energy has been notified and fire department has paid a visit and is aware.

NO ONE IS TO USE THE PROPERTY UNTIL CE GIVES AN ALL CLEAR.

They’re usually pretty good and will at least get the trees off our drive.

Will update as soon as we hear more.

A sneak peak at some new signage going up (after the weather breaks and we find the perfect spot) thanks to @oakopenings including our property in their work with the Southeast Michigan Resiliency Fund.

“Placemaking through
restoration of the Oak Openings Region” was the grant title we were part of.

The sign shares how important our property is for all the critters. It also conveys the importance hunting plays.

A special thank you goes out to @fly_shot_junkie with @michiganoutofdoors1947 for helping find the right words.

“Properly-maintained properties maximize biodiversity by utilizing tools such as mechanical clearing, prescribed burns and hunting. Not only is hunting important to maintain habitat, but also to maintain animal populations. Hunting helps balance the animals on the landscape and helps fund conservation for many non-game species. Hunting seasons and quotas are guided by sound scientific principles. Hunting is a valuable tool within the conservation tool box.”

You’ll also find similar signs at Ansted Park and Wheeler Preserve here in town.

Dòchas II is a private, non-profit, 501(C)(3) agency dedicated to providing free crisis intervention to youth and families in crisis across South-Central Michigan. Dòchas comes from the indigenous language of Gaelic and translates in English to “Hope”. The agency provides youth centered services designed to build strengths and stability. Dòchas II provides services to youth and families in Hillsdale, Jackson, Lenawee and Monroe Counties.

We can’t wait to show this organization the love of our community of wonderful archers on June 12th of this year!

Our course meanders its way through a beautiful hardwoods and challenges archers of all ability levels, with shots from the ground as well as from platforms.
The club hosts several events throughout the year that help archers of all ages and abilities keep active with the sport of archery.
The club also has an indoor shooting range which allows its members to shoot comfortably year round (rain or shine). Stop in to one of our shoots and see how Tomahawk Archers can benefit you and your family. We look forward to seeing you in the near future.
